Trained to Freedom: on the education of difficult dogs

imagesCAJYS0P1On Wednesday 26th February 2014, Mrs Muscardini (ECR, IT), Vice-President of the Animal Welfare Intergroup,  has hosted an event organized by Italian dog trainers which focused on the education of dogs with behaviour problems.

Several film clips where screened showing how also difficult dogs with acute behaviour problems  can be trained to a normal social life without using violence or psychotropic medications. This is an issue of relevance as many dogs are given to shelters or are abandoned by their owners because of their problematic behaviour.

Amongst the speakers were Giovanni G. Giacobbe, dog trainer for E.N.C.I. and CSAA Legambiente, Giuseppe D’Urbino, Head of the Civil Protection team “Lupi della Toscana “, Massimo Giunta, dog trainer, responsible for training at AIAD Section Lomellina, Dr. Luca Scandone, President of Gispev, Pavel Poc, the President of the Animal Welfare Intergroup, Anna Rosbach MEP, Coordinator for the ECR Group in ENVI Committee, Sonia Alfano MEP, Member of the Petitions Committee.
