Celebrate #PetPower: Virtual gathering

World Animal Day is fast approaching.

Tune in on 1st October at 14h00 CEST to celebrate this important day.

Organised by AnimalhealthEurope and FEDIAF#PetPower will gather animal lovers from all over Europe who will tell their stories of the positive role pets play in society, how they helped us through lockdown, the importance of responsible care of our pets, and more! 

The virtual meeting  will have the participation of Animal Welfare Intergroup Vice President MEP Petras Auštrevičius and will be moderated by The Telegraph’s Brussels correspondent James Crisp. 

Full agenda: 

  • MEP Petras Auštrevičius will share views about the positive role pets play in society and the importance of better care for pets 
  • IAHAIO President Dr. Marie-José Enders-Slegers will talk about Human-Animal bond research, and the need for the relationship to be a two-way street 
  • Medical Detection Dogs CEO Dr Claire Guest will speak about the power of dogs to detect human diseases and the COVID-19 Detection Dogs 
  • EU Dog and Cat Alliance chair Suzie Carley will talk about responsible pet ownership, why ‘A dog is for life, not just for lockdown’ and EU policy for pets.
