Stolen Wildlife: Closing the loopholes in the EU Wildlife Trade Regulations

18 Dec 2020
On Wednesday 13th January from 15.00-16.30 CET, MEPs for Wildlife will be organising an online conference in collaboration with Pro Wildlife and Humane Society International/Europe to discuss the necessity of closing the loopholes in the EU wildlife trade regulations.

With the issue of protecting nature high on the political agenda in the framework of the EU Biodiversity Strategy, it is an opportune moment to discuss the impact of the wildlife trade on biodiversity decline. This event, hosted by Martin Hojsik MEP (Renew Europe) will specifically focus on how species are illegal harvested in and exported from their country of origin and yet traded legally, primarily within the exotic pet trade, in the EU.
